Erma Hayman House Mission Statement

The Erma Hayman House is a historic site and cultural center that shares a dignity-centered history of the River Street Neighborhood through preservation, interpretation, and culturally mindful public programs. Through collaborative partnerships, the Erma Hayman House offers inclusive on-site programs and experiences that seek to directly support, serve, and amplify Boise’s diverse community.

Site Accommodations

Located in the Historic River Street Neighborhood just a few blocks from Downtown Boise, the Erma Hayman House can accommodate both indoor and outdoor events and includes a small catering kitchen (approx. 100 square feet), two gender-neutral bathrooms, tables and chairs, and outdoor electrical capabilities for audio-visual needs. The Erma Hayman House is approximately 900 square feet and can accommodate approximately 20 people seated lecture-style, 15 people seated dinner-style, or 10 people seated at small tables indoors.

During the months of April through October, the outdoor space at the Erma Hayman House can accommodate up to 100 guests and is flexible in use with access to the permanent benches in the lawn area. Limited outdoor furniture and shade tents are available on-site for this space.

The Erma Hayman House is available for event and program use during the following days and times: Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, 5 p.m. - 8 p.m., and on Saturdays, 3 p.m. - 7 p.m. These timeframes do not include the one hour before AND after the event that will be designated for event set-up and breakdown.

To streamline the process and to increase chances of your program being approved, we encourage you to visit the Erma Hayman House prior to applying.
